Together, we will definitely Win. Glory to Ukraine!”.

In his new position, he will be responsible for developing the university’s international partnership and establishing academic ties with foreign educational and scientific institutions.

Commenting on his appointment, Vadym Popko noted: “Our goal is to go beyond traditional cooperation agreements. I am not interested in memoranda for the sake of memoranda. I want KNU to have real, active partnerships with universities in Europe and the world, with real mobility of students and teachers, joint research, and mutual recognition of qualifications.”

He also noted that in the near future he will focus on auditing the contractual framework that already exists.

“We will analyze which agreements really work and which ones don’t, where we are losing opportunities, or where there are any barriers. We cannot build qualitatively new relationships without understanding the overall situation,” the new vice-rector noted.

Vadym Popko emphasized that the ambitious tasks facing the university in the field of international cooperation can only be realized through joint efforts.

According to him, he counts on coordinated teamwork: “No strategy works by itself – it is implemented by people. Therefore, for me, coordinated teamwork under the leadership of Valeriy Kopiyka is fundamentally important, where everyone understands the common goal and is responsible for it. This is the basis for building sustainable international partnerships. The university must speak with foreign colleagues with one voice, and not on behalf of individual departments or divisions. Only then is it possible to achieve long-term results.”

Regarding international grants and attracting funding, Vadym Popko noted that Ukrainian higher education institutions are currently not sufficiently represented in European grant programs. Therefore, according to him, it would be worthwhile to create a platform that would help teachers and students in these matters.

“A university is a living organism and it cannot exist in a vacuum. It must function on the basis of mutually beneficial partnerships with other universities, the state, business, and the international community,” said Vadym Popko.

According to him, all these processes, as well as what will happen within the framework of international cooperation, should produce concrete results for students.

“More grants, more internships, more opportunities to build a career without leaving Ukraine, or definitely return here with new knowledge and experience,” Popko noted.

He added that although Ukraine is going through extremely difficult times, it must rethink its place in the European and global academic community.

“I am convinced that we will have enough organization and knowledge to become an equal partner. And what we will do together with the team will turn into long-term academic alliances that will remain after our victory and will serve the goals and objectives of post-war reconstruction,” Popko summed up.

Published in “Ukrainian News“

Professor of the Department of Comparative and European Law of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, lawyer and managing partner of the Popko Brothers and Partners Law Association, Vadym Popko, has been appointed as Vice-Rector of the Kyiv National University.

[97

post-4661","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en
["GET
